Not much I'm afraid guys. I've been busy with an Open University course and I've only read a couple of books. mostly not suitable for children such as Stephen King's Cell...what a lame ending. Oh well, you can't expect anything else from a King book...
The main book was Medusa Island and it was fun but predictable...kids will love it, so please please enter the competition to get your very own copy of the book. Its the tale of a young boy who starts noticing that people are disappearing. No-one, not even his parents seem to remember the missing children and they discover it is a young girl turned medusa at fault.
Fun for kids. I would recommend it for those between 7 and 10 years old.
The next thing worth mentioning is Paul Woodward and his Buddy World Books. I first got in touch with Paul not because of his books but because of 3D modelling. He uses his talents as a 3D modeller to create images for his books which look, I have to say, totally fantastic. He has taken the approach of having all his books available online via the website www.buddyworld.co.uk and for a modest fee you can access the site for a whole year. I saw an earlier version of the site and I have to say I was impressed - it brings an interactiveness to the site which is fun for kids.
Finally, the ole Moby Dick is back. I found my copy again...and I am about 1/2 way through now. I now realise what the problem is with the book - it is fantastic but only when Melville gets to the point...man can he waffle for pages and pages and pages and pages. Just like my reads I suppose. Anyway, at this rate, assuming I misplace and find it again at a rate of once every 6 months I should get the book finished around 2011. I have taken steps to speed this up by skipping some of the waffle however so I will let you know how I get on.
Later.
